The village of Stradbroke is very well facilitated. There is a Spar
supermarket, excellent butchers shop, bakery, post office, Bridal/special occasion
dress shop, two public houses that serve meals, one of which provides an Indian Takeaway service, and a large and beautiful church. Fish and Chip are available on Thursday afternoons from a visiting vendor. Special events include a jazz/real ale festival, art exhibitions and a summer fete. There is a swimming pool with play area nearby, both of which
are on the same site as the doctors' surgery, village hall and recycling centre.
There are tennis courts and a bowls club.
The Village
The Area
The towns of Eye and Diss both have supermarkets and Take Aways, and are both about 10 miles away. Diss has a railway station that is on the Norwich/London Liverpool Street line with frequent trains running to London. The towns of Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Norwich are about ¾ hours drive away, and the East Coast with its many bird reserves and pretty towns such as Aldeburgh and Thorpness are at the same distance. Maps and tourist attraction information is available in the cottage.
